Merry Christmas to myself - another crossed off the list.** oh no, here we go again**

Had a great year at work, combined with my tendency to set new VCP records for well centered cards, I couldn't resist this one last night. Man - the 64 was a tough one. Almost always has a tilt. Registration is usually a little off. Have seen many with goofy PD in and around his face. I'll accept the not so perfect print on this one for now given the corners look nm-mt, and maybe someday will find a worthy upgrade. Down to just the 51, 52's, 57 and 61 for the basic set. Ho, Ho, Ho and a special merry christmas to frank

Merry Christmas Bob.
Edit to add: Make sure you get the 'Southern Arizona Nationals' variation.

If you're gonna go with a Mitless Hawkins card the one to get is the H914 1907 Iron Horse Wheatbread name in small print (with tab attached of course).

<< <i>Nice card, though a well centered D509 DairyDream of 'Mitless' Timmy Hawkins in the PSA 2-3 range would have probably been a better use of that money.

No way. Too many of the 'tab attached' variations came from a counterfeiting operation run by the Schneider brothers out of Tallahassee, Fl. in the late '80's. Even PSA and SGC has trouble spotting those fakes, as evidenced by some of the examples currently residing in slabs (hint- if you see any with the 'Of course- it's gotta be Iron Horse' slogan printed on the tab the odds are VERY good that it's a fake) . Legitimate H914s cost a ton- particularly the copies with the scarlet colored tab. I've only seen about six in my life that I think were legit, with the last one being (if memory serves) at Jimmy Callahan's table at one of those big shows that used to run annually in Des Moines in the early 90's.
Took a stab at this one last night and what do you know, I won. I can deal with the little bit of OC top to bottom, since the card doesn't have too much of that annoying, typical 57 tilt to it, if any.
Down to just the 51, 52's and the 61 now. I think I'll have to sell a bunch of stuff for the 51 and 52's, so that should get interesting.
Happy Holidays,
Bob

<< <i>Wow! That '64 is a beauty. Certainly appears to be at least a 7.5. >>
I received the 64 in the mail this week and now that it's in hand, I think I agree.
The small amount of PD is magnified in the scan and barely noticible in person. Registration is great, corners are great, edges are great.
I just may have to take my chances cracking this one out for a re-sub.
What's the worst that can happen
Great cards!

Ditto for the '57 - presents very well.
