Are there any 1949 Bowman baseball rings out there?

I wanted to post a thread asking anyone if they know of a 1949 Bowman ring. There are 2 mail in offers on the back of the 1949 Bowman Baseball cards. One is for a plastic baseball bank and the other is for a metal baseball ring. Does anyone know if any of the rings exist?

I would have to go with no these never were fulfilled. Looking into it you had to send in 3 wrappers and 15 cents to get the ring. Since my google fu is fairly strong and there are zero hits for any info other than what the offer was these are either super rare or just don't exist.

I know that if any of them exist that they are pretty hard to come by. I have never heard of any of them being around. I have the bank that was offered on the back of the card and I am really trying to locate the ring. I don't know how many 1949 Bowman baseball banks exist but I surely can't be the only one. Hopefully someone has some insight as to whether or not there is a ring or two out there.

Jim Churilla wrote a Registry Collection article on the 1949 Bowman and mentions the ring and the bank. Mr. Ted Zanidakis is listed as a contributor to the article. If he is still around, it might be worth an email.

I would like to thank Mr. Ted Zanidakis for offering his expertise on the subject and his first-hand knowledge from one who was fortunate enough to have opened many 1949 Bowman packs of baseball cards!

I believe Ted Zanidakis still posts at net 54.

I have the SMR with the 1949 Bowman article. That is one of my favorites because of that set. I sent Ted Zanidakis an email but never got a reply. I may try again and see if he has any info on the possibility of any rings being out there. I have never been on Net54 but I will give it a shot.

Ted Z does still post on Net54. You may be able to send him a PM there if you are a member.

Do you think it is possible/likely that the rings Leaf sent out were "generic" with no indication of Leaf on them?
