I don't think the rims are squared off enough to be a proof, right?

Hmm...I don't like the reverse rim though...

Does this MPL look like a proof? It is. But it's in a holder that partly obscures the rims.

Your 1909 does have the polish lines in front of Lincolns nose, that is one of the diagnostics for a 1909 MPL.
I sent a 1909 VDB in recently....patiently waiting on the decision.

Yeah, the color made me nervous as well. Blue isn't a good color to see on copper. The coin is currently on eBay. I didn't think it was a proof, but figured I'd post it to see what you guys thought. Pretty coin, even if it's AT.

<< <i>You don't see the ghost image from the metal flow on MPL's. See the luster pattern on the reverse? It sort of outlines the obverse design. No way is it a MPL, just on that. >>
Cool way to tell, I never noticed the luster did that!
Beat me to it.
Look for the diagnostics such as die lines in front of Lincoln's nose.
Or single die line behind Lincoln's coat, toward the R in LIBERTY.
But either way it is a nice coin.
