Sending in these Morgans to PCGS for slabbing care to guess the results? **GRADES POSTED :( **

Sending in these Morgans to PCGS for slabbing care to guess what the results will be? They are:

I'll bet you mixed up the reverses on the 1889-S and the 1881-CC.

Best of luck!!! I hope I'm low on all of 'em.
    When in doubt, don't.

Well, you were right... After examining the first two pictures, I see that below the 1889 is a CC back and below the 1881 is a S back. I went ahead and corrected it in the original post. Thanks!

If you get really bored with the '92 CC, it would fit in my Dansco just fine image

I'm thinking I'd guess a bit higher than most have done. Perhaps the '85 is PL or maybe it is just the photo is overlit/overexposed?

Thanks everyone for your input, I sent a total of 13 coins out today for grading. I will let everyone know how these and the others grade as soon as they post grades.

Ok here's a question... A lot of you have estimated some pretty solid grades, so here's a question. If any of them do grade a 65, should I sent it right back for secure plus grading?
  • Options
Let me clarify.. Since I am a new submitter, I don't know if regular submissions get the plus if they deserve it or is the + only for secure plus grading?

the smaller pics I cant tell. The two coins in the bigger pics look cleaned. Where did you get these coins? Were they slabbed before?

I really like the 1890 CC - I think it could go 65+ or maybe even 66, depending on the actual amount of luster which is hard to tell from the photos.

They were my part of my father in laws collection, which were in the blue books. They were never slabbed just sat in the books in a bank safe for decades. We just switched banks so we decided to finally look through them and get some of the nicer coins graded and put the rest of the books back in the safety deposit boxes.

Hopefully they were never touched, but we shall see. PCGS just signed for them yesterday, so hopefully they will be graded before 2012.

Wow, the coins were logged in on Saturday. I guess they are trying to dig themselves out.

    Ok, this is too annoying...

My grades posted and they are as follows:
    1 1 24026999 7126 1881-CC $1 USA MS64
    2 1 24027000 7156 1884-S $1 USA Genuine - Poor Details (92 - Cleaned)
    3 1 24027001 7160 1885-CC $1 USA MS63
    4 1 24027002 7168 1886-O $1 USA XF40
    5 1 24027003 7194 1889-S $1 USA MS63
    6 1 24027004 7198 1890-CC $1 USA Genuine (94 - Altered Surface)
    7 1 24027005 7214 1892-CC $1 USA MS61
    8 1 24027006 7218 1892-S $1 USA Genuine (92 - Cleaned)

I will post pictures once I get them but, I'm thinking of cracking them out and resubmitting to the other coast... My layman's eyes think they really messed up on at least one of the coins. Also what is altered surface...these are the family collection out of books raw. This makes 2 of my submissions that the general consensus around here has them graded higher.

It looked cleaned to me- luster looks muted. This must be why it's a 61??
