  • Evening,

Please take this the way it is meant, I have an interest in a couple of the sets, but have some questions/concerns from the representative scans. Your statement is that they should be at least NM or better, by year what percentages are we talking per grade?

Are the scans represenative of those two years or all of the years?

    Here is what I see:

    1st Row
Erving OC with blemishes left side, maybe a straight 6...Maybe, Smith Ding left side, maybe a 7, Carter Way OC, 5 at best.

    2nd Row
Dampier OC & Diamond Cut, maybe 6/7, Jones Nice 7/8, Daniels Way OC maybe 5/6

    3rd Row
Moore 7 maybe 8, Denton Way OC 5 maybe 6, Jones OC maybe straight 7

    4th Row
Johnson possible stain scan can't tell might be 7/8, Bing Top scan missing T/B OC? 6-8, Cunningham T/B OC maybe 6/7, Wilkins Stains on card ST qualifier or VG 3/4

    5th Row
    Russell T/B OC maybe 7/8, McGlocklin T/B OC maybe 7, Arsdale T/B OC maybe 7, Schlueter 7/8

So I guess what I am asking and letting you know, I don't see a bunch of "These are truly Investment Quality, These sets are unreal, these cards are well at NM and above, Plenty of 7,8,9 and 10's in this set run...(Your Sales Pitch), in the scans you provided. So are these cards the exception to the rule or what the sets look like? And how about the key cards from each year?

You need to provide a lot more info to get any serious bites here.

    Thanks

    Neil

  • Yes these scans are cut off from my scanner, these cards are in old pages and have been in them for years...A truly good scan would be to scan the card out of the sheets, I suppose I will do that. I can write about each card. If there is a serious person who is interested, they can PM me and I will give them everything they ask for.

If PSA graded cards from photos or scans we would be in trouble..So I think I would leave it up to PSA when they are holding the actual card in there hands..

Again, keep in mind your grading the cards in old pocket holders on a scanning bed that is not Chrystal clear, plus its 9 and 8 cards at a time, so please don't take this the wrong way, but your kinda way off on the grading. thanks for your input anyway..

FYI, I had a deal to buy these sets then after seeing Neil's post I asked for scans too. I got the same crappy scans that Neil got, so I asked for more. Instead of getting more scans I was told the seller was submitting the cards instead & the sets weren't for sale.

Sorry, I don't buy that. I think the cards were not as described & the scans provided demonstrated as much. I'd bet better scans would've proved it.

  • Had a few interactions with OP previously about some "high grade" '63 Topps baseball cards. Pretty much the same discussion as this one and finally he says " I guess I need to grade them myself". I got a few poor photos/scans and that was it.
  • Morning,

Seems to be pattern developing here, he took down the scans when I provided a reasonable assessment of them, even with the crappy scans you could see they weren't worth submitting. Why anybody would think they can pass off Cards/Sets on these boards and Inflate their condition and get away with it is beyond me. Lets see between us we've sub'd how many? Many many 10,000's of thousands ! Pass that crap off on E-Bay............But here..............Nice Try !!
