Does it really matter what day you start your auctions on?

I am thinking of listing some stuff and wondered if a Tuesday night is just as good as a Sunday?

I've always had good results.
I do not like ending auctions during the week (Days or nights). Some people are at work and will not have the opertunity to place a higher bid.

Honestly, PSASAP is right. Seems like the really good bidders use snipe programs.
Personally I don't use snipe programs because I like to watch the price as it goes up and I manually bid within the last three seconds. I enjoy it. I track my watch list and saved searches through my Droid app.
and being in the IT field I am almost certain that the level of security available with web-based sniping
programs is not all that strong (so the risk that my userid and password could be compromised and
abused is more than I want to allow).
As for when to start and end, most of what I follow always seems to end on Fridays and Saturdays. Many of the
auction houses have things end on Thursdays too (but with 1 15-min rule that is tough for many who have to work
on Friday). Sunday and Tuesday also seem to be somewhat popular, but they are 2nd behind Friday and Saturday.

Since the question was about when to start an auction, I think that Sunday is the best, but I always do BIN or best offer.
I find that when I start an auction on Sunday I get the most activity with offers right away vs if it starts at other times I might miss some action.
If you list an item and it is on someones advanced search they might respond faster if it is on the weekend.
