T206 Bill Clymer

I am relatively new to collecting vintage things and am thinking of buying a T206 Bill Clymer PSA 3 for $45.00. I just wanted to know if anybody could tell me if they thought that was a good deal or not. Also when I looked the card up on PSA for verification it said T206 Unknown Back. I'd like to know if that should raise a red flag or not. Thanks for the help.

Unless this specific card has some sort of sentimental value to you, $45 looks to be about $15 too much if it has a common back.

No red flag - PSA (for some strange reason) never recorded the backs when they first graded T206's

If it isn't a nice 3 (good eye appeal), spend the extra $5-10 and buy a crease free PSA 4.

If the card you've shown (with the 707sportscards watermark) is the one you're thinking about getting, I would wait for another one to show up on eBay - hopefully one that has a better (hi-resolution) scan of the front and back.

707sportscards is typically a little high on their asking prices.

The card you've shown seems to be accurately graded as far as I can tell.

AB ... here is another PSA 3 on eBay. Looks a little dirty, but has great centering and, IMO, presents well for a "3". However, as Nam stated, this one is also overpriced by about $10.00. Like Pete said, you should get a scan of the back, as there are often times that the back has some damage and thus the reason for the low grade.
