That hurts...would say that typically goes for $15ish. Nice card but that's the problem with starting with a low auction price. Better luck next time. If you have any more for that price let me know...lol
Just wondering if you ever had thoughts of getting that card graded? At least you could have had a VCP amount or a little lower to start with. Really nice card and I wish I had seen it and sorry that you got a low selling price. Doug
Another Willard Marshall was auctioned off 42 minutes sooner than yours and was not as nice as yours but sold for $4.26. Maybe you might of gotten a better price if that card was auction off later than yours.
I sold a 1970 Dick Butkus card graded PSA 8 for $13. SMR=$60. $13 is usually what you pay for PSA 5's!!! I was furious when I saw the final price. Things happen though. One of the downfalls with starting cards at 99 cent openers. If it happens too many times, we will just do like every other seller on there and have bloated BIN prices.
I had 2 auctions end tonight very poorly as well. Both should have pulled in around $60 total. I got less then $4 total for both. Needless to say I too am not happy with ebay right now. I was walking around saying "cyber Monday my arse". I had some auctions listed that were supposed to end next Sunday but I pulled them. I relisted them as BIN. I can't afford to auction anything else with things going the way they are. IMO this is the worst holiday sales season I have ever had so far. I have a bad feeling its not going to get any better either.
The week after Thanksgiving has always been the best week for me in terms of winning auctions at low, low prices. I've always thought it was because people just blew through a ton of money on Black Friday weekend and have less of an appetite to bid on cards the subsequent week. It always seems to just last a week and then it returns to normal.
Wow, that is surprising, it looked to be in great condition. I just sold a roached Chuck Stobbs for $6.80 delivered, which, compared to yours, shouldn't have happened.
Did you have a bunch of similar items ending at the same time, or was that cards sort of by itself? I have had plenty slip through the cracks. I have had my best luck with auctions when I have a ton of stuff that is similar ending on the same night. If you don't have a ton of similar stuff ending the same night, you are taking a big risk.

Yep, especially if they're commons. A Hank Aaron by itself is fine, but Willard Marshall not so much.
i was scrolling through a mess yesterday, and it was huge.
i passed that card right by and thought about it afterwards, too. shoulda bought it.
perfect example of what eBay has become. while i have been an eager buyer recently for this exact reason, and NOT a seller, some good things do manage to slip on by when there's so much to look at and the pervasive attitude is that most of it is crap.
my suggestion: don't list anything you hope to do well with during this period of eBay upheaval. you will lose.
And just got my E-Mail yesterday about another Free 1000 Auctions today. Have to say anybody who runs any Cards starting at .99 cents with an expectation of having a final bid nowdays of between $10-$100 that isn't a Star Card ar Rare for some other reason, is a FOOL!
Oh and By The Way, those that Lament the pletora of Overpriced BIN's are Generalizing and full of it !! I have over 1000 items running on BIN's, and 99% of them are below SMR/VCP and other similar BIN's and Auctions on Fee-bay !!!
Auctions are Dead!!

Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
By taking a picture of the card instead of using a scan, it may give the perception to potential buyers that the card is trimmed / warped (at least on the right side). I don't think it's trimmed at all, but a picture definitely can give a card the perception of it.
probably not assigning it a grade, especially in the auction header hurt it. I normally don't even look at auctions that don't have some type of grade in the header. also $3.00 shipping for a single raw card is probably a bit high.

IMO, this plus the picture hurt it the most. Any time I seee an auction with a picture instead of a scan, I always assume the worst. Also, I never browse any more; I only use canned searches that include condition in the description so I miss a lot I'm sure.

Scans beat pictures whenever possible!
