WAY O/T - Any other marathon runners out there

Running my 10th and final marathon today: The NCR Trail marathon in Baltimore County, MD. Are any other collectors on this board marathon runners?

    Good Luck!!
  • I would have died 6 times before I finished a marathon... Lol

  • I am an Ironman 3 (05 Arizona, 06 Couer 'd Alene 11 - Lake Placid) 26 marathon finishes PR of 3:21. Trying to figure out what to do next.

Daniel ... Best of Luck. I started running later in life ... at age 45 (when my little girl got sick). I have run 7 Marathons to date and started racing Triathlons a few years ago.

Barry ... Congrats on your IronMan finishes. I was signed up to race IronMan Lake Placid as well this year. HOWEVER, 3.5 months into training (the middle of April) I had an accident and broke my RIGHT ankle and had to have surgery on my LEFT knee. I'm starting to train again, but I am not near 100%. Looks like I'll be doing the Rev3 Half Ironman in Knoxville in May. EDITED TO ADD: That would have been my first IronMan!!!

I've run a few half marathons. I only intend to run one full, and that's if I get accepted to NYC.

I usually watch the Twilight Zone marathon every year. Does that count?

  • I've got my 12 half marathon of the year in two weeks!
  • My dad's a marathon runner. He usually does a few halfs throughout the year, one full marathon, with trail runs and other different events mixed in. Not too bad considering he travels a decent amount and is 54 years old!

Thanks for the well wishes. I had a goal of 4 hours and finished in.....3:59. A little too close for comfort. I'll be 50 next year so I'm done with the long distances. I do plan on competing in 5K's against "'old' people (my new age group) in the future.

Daniel ... job WELL done! ALWAYS nice to finish the race in under 4 hours. 3:59 sounds SO MUCH FASTER than 4 hours!!!!

  • I'm 'running' (a term I shall use very loosely) the St. Jude Memphis half next weekend.

    Nice job!

I did 3 Boston Marathons with the last one coming in 2002. My knees have thanked me for it over the past 9 years, although I have the itch to try it one more time...

Scooter ... I can sympathize with the knee pain. THREE knee operations in the past 7 years. Still not over my last one and the damn knees hurt more than ever! WHY do I keep doing these? HAHAHA
