Registered Mail Delivery Time???

I sent in a sealed box of silver eagle 25th anniversary sets to be graded.
I sent them priority mail - registered on the 19th.
The USPS site still shows dispatched to sort center.
I know registered takes longer but can anyone tell me just how long is reasonable?
Thanks!

The Priority level of service only applies in this case because of the weight and size of the pakcage; it does not apply to the speed of delivery. In my experience, nearly everything I ship via Registered Mail takes 7-10 days for delivery, but that would not necessarily be the same for everyone else.

Registered mail shipping times are very unpredictable. I have had deliveries take 2 days and more than 2 weeks. As TomB indicated, sending it Priority will not affect the shipping time.

It is not even time to think about it until 10 days.

Totally agree....tracking doesn't seem to activate until the package is at the destination PO...and THAT could take a while

I did a box on the 17th that was supposed to be there on the 19th. Guess they took the weekend off as it showed up yesterday. No tracking info other than at the initial sort facility then 4 days of nothing until delivered.

7-10 days is average - call that reasonable.

Truck speed limits are still around 60MPH in most areas. But planes fly faster.
Forgot to add that most of the time they take Sunday off.

They deliver it when they feel like it. I have had registered packages delivered in 3 days and in 3 weeks.

It helps to mail registered from your city's main post office branch. Seems to take a day or two off delivery time in my case. My last two shipments from JAX to Sarasota (10 ASE sets each) took only two days.

Registered is not traceable online. Also sometimes the "expected delivery date" will be shown for priority mail simple which is much different. --Jerry

    unpredictable is a great descriptions.

could take a week, could take two, could get lucky and have it take only a couple of days.

    patience is required for Registered.

Another issue is the shipping time between two cities can vary considerably, depending on which city is the sending one. For example, Boston to Portland OR usually takes around seven working days. The return from Portland to Boston normally takes only three or four working days.

I have sent and received hundreds of Registered Mail packages over the years. The quickest was three days while the longest was 17 days (from New York to Oklahoma). As other folks have said, the average is 7-10 days.

By the way, every one of those hundreds of packages arrived safely.

I'm with bloodman 2 days to 2 weeks. I sent a package Friday, it left our region on Saturday and hasn't arrived...anywhere! I know it's not sitting on a truck, someone just hasn't logged it in wherever it is.

My registered package finally arrived after a week of nail biting on my part.
    Now the real wait begins!
