Tough to say, but you should be able to buy all the 7's on Ebay over time for say $1,200 - 1500. Maybe a little more or a little less depending on how patient/impatient one is.

wow ..i would have thought that it would have been much cheaper... i checked ebay and 8's are plentiful...so in psa 7's a each card would come out to around 25 bucks each? are these condition sensitive cards? would i just do better by buying a raw set and summiting on my own? thanks Ethan

7's are all over the place...

I am doing 7's (and higher where I can)
and here is what I find:

with the exception of Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Yaz, Koufax, & a couple of SPs
you can get all the others in PSA 7 for about 12 - 16 $$ each
(+ shipping so it is good to buy lots from 1 seller to save)

    52 commons @ $15 = 780
    8 Stars & sps @ $35 average = 280
Estimated total for PSA 7 set = $1060

You can collect and submit yourself, but the cards will range from $1 - $10 each
    and grading fees are $7 - $10 each + shipping & insurance...
so you will have to decide.

    Good Luck either way.

  • Bigkid, your analysis is excellent. I would also factor in the shipping costs and you're up to around $1,200. I think this would be the low end of the range assuming that there is a lot of supply of 7's which there currently are.

i just picked up cards #1 for $2.50 on ebay last night. thank u guys for the advice. if i can be selective and pay prices like this it might be a nice set to complete. my main goal is the 1992 bowman set. but the set is a monster and very few cards are graded so i might try to build this set by being picky here and there.

ps . Jay i got my package today .. thanks for everything

Ethan, glad you rec'd it. Just don't eat the Canseco candy! By the way, Canseco is Zardoz' favorite player. Was invited to play on the ZAG All Stars too! ..jay

also how many cards does the master set includes? ..i have heard 60 but an ebay seller mentioned that it was 77? can someone please let me know... also was this a good price or this card the most common of all? thanks Ethan

I too have recently joined in on the 64 giants (little pieces of art, I think) . I have a question I think gem. and some others may be able to answer. I have noticed a few current auctions for 9's state "non graded higher". Is this true? Which #'s have no 10's in the pop. report?

    Thanks

ok that is hard to read, but
here are the ONLY cards WITH ANY psa 10's & the number of 10's that exist:

    KEN JOHNSON = 1
    RON HUNT = 1
    ROCKY COLAVITO = 2
    JIM BUNNING = 1
    AL KALINE=1
    DEAN CHANCE=2
    FRANK HOWARD=1
    FRANK ROBINSON=6
    WARREN SPAHN=2
    CAMILO PASCUAL=1
    DAVE WICKERSHAM=1
    JOHNNY CALLISON=1
    JUAN MARICHAL=1
    HARMON KILLEBREW=1
    DICK RADATZ=1
    BOB GIBSON=4
    TOMMY DAVIS=1
    CARL YASTRZEMSKI=1
    BROOKS ROBINSON=2
    JUAN PIZARRO=1
    LEON WAGNER=2
    ORLANDO CEPEDA=2
    RON SANTO=1

AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE ARE JUST NOT MANY 10'S AT ALL IN THIS SET. NEITHER WILLIE MAYS, HANK ARRON, ROBERTO CLEMENTE NOR MICKEY MANTLE CARDS IN THIS SET HAVE EVER BEEN GRADED gem 10 by PSA! SO GET THE NINES WHERE YOU CAN!

Okay, so gem., how many of those 10's DO you really have? As far as 9's, that's what I've been going for, even though the last two I won (months ago) were over my budget big time. I agree with most on this post that the competition on these has grown very much in the last few months. Last year I used to at least try and compete on the 10's, now forget about it. The 10's now, I wish. I hope the 60's special floods e-bay with 64's to drop the prices a bit. Anyone as optimistic as me???? Thank's for the pop. report. By the way, I only have 8 cards in the set so far (pretty weak I know) but hopefully that will get better in time. I'm very patient and like to spread out my collecting dollar over many different years, sports, and sets. It's hard to get bored or dissapointed this way as there's always something else out there to bid on. I must learn to, "focus Daniel-san".
  • Bob S - you can forget about getting an answer from Gemmint concerning the make-up of his set. Believe me, I've tried. It would probably be easier to contact every other collector in the world and ask them if they have any of the 10's. From there, you could find out what he has through process of elimination. It would probably take less time too.

Seriously, I think he is missing one, possibly two of the 10's in the set. Plus, he probably has most of the duplicate 10's too. There are a few that I know he doesn't have.

Hey how did Bigkid get a hold of my '64 Topps Giants Registry list?????

    Just kiddin' image
  • Well, I am planning on submitting the 1000 or so of these cards that I have and I am sure all will grade 9 or 10. I will then be auctioning these cards off on ebay and I will block thegemmintman from bidding on these auctions. Ofcourse, I am doing all of this simply to rid the world of Gemmint's hold on the registry. I have been waiting for this for some time now.

Before Gemmint needs to be admitted some where, I should tell everyone that I am kidding. image

Pinhigh - LOL, welll that's one way to stop my diabolical plan to dominate the "World of the Giants". But then you would be passing up "ONE MILLION" dollars worth of bids.

  • Gemmint - Money would not be me purpose if I were to do that. I do have some of these cards that I may submit.
