    I sincerely HATE Eli Manning ( In NFL terms ) The fact that he was able to get so godam lucky in the Super Bowl drives me insane every time I see him play, one of the refferee's that was reffing that game said he was a milli second away from blowing the whistle when he was wrapped up before he threw that stupid circus catch to Tyree, Eli is a joke and is the LUCKIEST QB ever.

    Edit to add: OTOH, one could argue that the pats had their own share of divine fortune when Brady fumbled, er I mean, tucked the ball against the Raiders and then Vinatieri comes out in a blizzard to nail a kick he'd probably miss 9 out of 10 times to propel the Pats to their first Super Bowl, when their season should have been over in the divisional round. Just sayin'.

    Tim I completely agree with that I really do, however the Pats Win that year shouldnt be considered a fluke because basically the same team did beat the Eagles and Panthers in Super Bowls unlike the Giants of that year never sniffed a Super Bowl again. Brady is/was a Winner where Eli's win was pure stupid luck.

    The Cowboys beat the Giants both games that year and the old "tuff to beat a team 3 times" rule kicked in or Dallas would have been in the SB beating the Pats instead of lucky Eli.image

    BTW, I think he is over rated also and I can't stand their coach!!!image

    That "tough to beat three times" thing is a complete myth.

    It was a lucky play, yes, but good teams usually have things go their way while bad teams suffer the opposite fate.

    The pass to Tyree was a fluke, but the winning TD pass to Burress was not. The Giants won that game because they got in Brady's face all day and put him on his back.

    Had the Cowboys gotten to the Super Bowl that season, we'd all be talking about whether the Packers can match that perfect season the Pats had in '08.
