What did you all pick up this week?
I managed to achieve my goal of completing the Johnson Matthey old pour/odd size (this style) set. Picked up the 10 oz'er this week doing so. (Thanks to a member here for helping me out with the 4 & 7 oz'er)
I know they made higher oz bars, but I dont think like this style. If anyone knows that for sure, please lmk. I also know they made a 2 oz'er, but it isn't this style.
Also picked these 2 up yesterday from a local dealer. The 5 onza has a minatge of only 500, the 12 has one of 5000. They came in fancy packaging and with a COA, but I have neither for either round, just have the rounds. Does anyone know what these typically go for? I can't find any value info.

The unlabelled 1/4 is a 2009.
Only decent close up shot I got of anything.
Here's my haul this week. The owner of this little antique store I visit called me up and asked me if I was interested in
a roll of morgans/peace dollars that walked through the door. I was able to buy them just a bit below melt at the time.
I'm probably just even on them after yesterday's $2 splunge.
Oh yeah, and I picked up these 3 little gems on Monday!
Click on this link to see my ebay listings.
I got a Baley Box:

Looking forward to the usual info and comments on these

There are larger JMC bars of same style...
Someone else let me know that thru email too, can't find pictures of any the same style though. He also said there was a 1 & 2 oz version too.
Sure would like to add to the ones I have, as long as they aren't ridiculously priced.

The Heroes of comics set is a great find IMO. The Hero of Comics Set was minted by the Mount Everest Mint. The Wonder Woman silver art bar of that set is the most valuable followed by the Superman bar and then the Batman and Robin art bar. According to the 4th edition of the Archie Kidd silver art bar guide book, the mintage number for the Flash Gordon is 1600, 2300 mintage each for the Superman and The Phantom bars, 2330 mintage each for the Mandrake the Magician and Batman & Robin bars, and a mintage number of only 300 for the Proof version of the Wonder Woman art bar. The complete set such as the one you have will do very well on ebay. That is a major find in my opinion. Congrats on this find.
<< <i>I just picked up a couple of Art Bars. A "Merry Christmas" one and an "Old Ironside one." Edited to add pics...
Looking forward to the usual info and comments on these

Judging by the reverse side, This "Merry Christmas" art bar was minted by Crown Mint in 1983 according to the 4th edition Archie Kidd silver art bar guidebook. The "Old Ironsides" silver art bar was minted by Madison Mint in 1972. Both of these are common art bars and will cost between $5 to $10 over spot on ebay.
Generally speaking, Madison Mint silver art bars are very common. There are exceptions to this but not many IMO.
Most Holiday-themed silver art bars are also very common since I tend to see a lot of them at local coin shops and at coin shows. As far as I know, the only two exceptions to this are 1.) the Christmas-themed silver art bars that were minted by Greathouse Productions and 2.) the adult-themed Crown Mint Holiday Beauties silver art bars that were minted by Crown Mint in 1984 and 1985 (Season's Greetings, Happy New Year, Valentines, Easter, St Patrick's, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving).
The only other Crown Mint silver art bars that have a fairly high collector's value is the 12-bar Crown Mint Beauties set of adult-themed bars that displays a nude woman for each month of the year.
They all have the same serial #713
Picked them up for $210 hoping they would have some type of premium.
Was surprised to see the last wonderwoman sold for $175 and the others seem to b around 60-70 ea.
Do you think they would do best as a set or individuals?
Thanks for your info

Those prices that you quoted sound about right. The Wonder Woman art bar is the rarest bar in that set and I am not surprised that it fetched that amount of money. Normally I would have said they would do well as individual bars but since you have the complete set with matching serial #'s, then I think that it would do best as a set in this case in my opinion. Either way, you have a winner with that 6-bar "Heroes of Comics" set if you decide to sell them on ebay. Congrats on your find.

<< <i>Piceofme, I went out Friday and found 2 ea - 5oz old Silver Town bars, haven't pulled the trigger yet, do you think they are collectible or just silver for melt? >>
I have several 5oz and 10oz old poured Silvertowne silver bars and I didn't pay any significant premium over melt. Neat bars but don't overpay for them.
