1782 Portugal 6400 Gold Reis

I am interested in buying one of these for my next gold piece. However, I can't find any history of the coin itself, or past sales to gauge how much its worth. Does anybody know anything about this coin? Any info is much appreciated! thanks

Here are some auction results to help with determining the price.

Don't have much info on these, other than I like the reverse design of the coat of arms.

Thanks for that link! Not sure how I missed that.
I actually really like the double portrait on the obverse.

    Wow, some beautiful coins.
    Unfortunately I don't speak Spanish...
Is this going to be an online auction?

Although the auction house owners are Spanish, speaking it wouldn't help you that much with the catalog...imageimage
No, it isn't an online auction, but you can contact them (in English) by e-mail, i'm sure they can help you on how to place your bids and other doubts that you may have.

P.S.: As a small adivice, i would bid on coins without a mint mark (Lisbon Mint), gold coins minted in Brazil ("B" and "R" mintmarks - Rio and Bahia), are fetching very high prices nowadays.

Well..the entire catalog and website is in Spanish...so it would help a little to know the language image Not sure what currency the prices are in, description of coins, etc.
I might pursue it, but I don't know if I am confident enough in this field to make educated bids at an auction like that...

I think the catalog is in Portuguese and the values are in Euros, but I could be mistaken.

Go to translate.google.com. You can copy what you see there, and it'll tell you what it says. You can also type your reply in English and send it off in Spanish, Portugese or one of about 60 languages.
