i would say that would depend on what you want. if you wanted one of the jerseys that they offer and would wear it, then you might as well redeem the cap. The value of the cap itself would most likely stay higher if not redeemed and traded so the person who receives it will have their choice instead of the jersey you picked out yourself. so i guess i am saying, keep it if you want one of the jerseys, sell or trade it if you don't without redeeming it first. make sure you read the expiration date first to make sure you have enough time to do whatever it is you decide.
