Went to a show this past Sunday and one dealer had some Canadian large cents for sale. I didn't have my good eyepiece with me but looking at an 1859 large cent it appeared that something was wrong with the nine. It was in vf condition and he was asking $5 for it. I had just sold $160 in canadian silver so, what the heck, I bought it. Got it home under my microscope and found out it was a nine over eight variety. Took it to another coin show today and swapped it for an 1890 Morgan dollar in ms62 . Who says you can't buy a silver dollar for $5. Sorry no pics. Didn't own it long enough to even think about it.

I always check out the 1859 Canadian cents at coin shows, especially if the coin is being sold by a dealer who mainly sells US coins. Good pickup.

Good eye. Whenever I spot 1859 Canada cents at the coin shows I always give the date a close examination.
There are several varieties listed in Charlton and I've picked up a couple but not the overdate.
