Missing Cards (Updated 12/15/11) and (updated 01/13/12)

Hi All,

6 days ago, the UPS Store I used for receipt of packages signed for a package from PSA. I went by to pick it up and they couldn't find it. So as of right now I'm out the cards listed below. I'll be filing a claim against the UPS store, but in the meantime appreciate it if anyone runs across the cards listed below to let me know. It could have been a hell of a lot worse, but still easily a $1000 plus worth of cards.

You may contact me at jjtmmw@aol.com

Thanks
Mark Wingard

Wow, that is terrible. I have also had some less than stellar experiences with UPS Stores. I hope they don't make it too difficult to get full compensation, as it is totally their fault.

That stinks, I had a similar situation with FedEx several years ago. I still have not fully recovered from that as some of those cards have been hard to replace.
Hope your cards show up soon.

I've seen other people recommend that you should add the cards to your PSA inventory so you'll at least know if someone else is trying to add the cards to their sets.

Here's hoping it's just a misplaced pkg in the store which will eventually turn up and NOT that your UPS clerk is a thieving collector!

Still have been unable to locate the cards. ended up filing a claim with the UPS Store Insurance carrier in late November. They contacted me today and said $300. I said no way. They said that was the value of the cards per the info I sent them. I said, no that was the cost to have them graded. They said "OH, we'll get back to you".

Look up total VCP Average for the whole lot and do NOT settle for less than that!

PS - And ADD the Grading costs and shipping (both ways) onto that total

What does UPS being a "Union Company" have anything to do with it? Are you implying that "Non-Union" companies never lose a package?

Hope your package turns up man. Those were some sweet grades.

Seriously do this... It's worked for me plenty of times..
Call until you get a supervisor (try both the UPS store and their insrance), let them know that you will be filing a police report for grand theft of $1500+ worth of sports cards (Assuming grading feeds+ shipping+ etcetcetc) at the UPS store because it is obvious they arrived.... and see how fast the cards turn up... I bet they turn up because someone would rather "find" a package than lose a job or risk jail time....

If you did actually do anything with police... I believe the manager of the store would have to file theft - you would have to take the "civil" route (Pun intended)

If you do have to file a suite you pretty much automatically win because you have proof they rec'd them... then they went missing - they did not do their duty as a shop..

I know the cards would be worth more than 100% of vcp if you got that for them... But I believe in this situation you are safe....

Settled with the UPS Store's Insurance Company (Hartford) today. The amount was $250 less the declared amount on my PSA submission form. Basically they accepted my declared amount as the amount of total loss, Including card value, shipping to and from PSA, Insurance, etc.

Bottom line, I came out ahead. Most cards I submit I bump up the declared amount above what the card is worth. in this case it paid off.

Rather find the seller and throw them in jail.

Or the person who sold them to a card shop who sold them to someone who sold them on ebay.

What a douchebag thing to say, besides being ignorant.

Those stores are generally owned and operated independently.

Glad you got made whole treetop.
