Nice one. I like the toning on it.

Ol' Nerva was a bit of a sourpuss in his portraits, wasn't he? Not quite the scowler that Galba was, perhaps, but rather stern looking, nonetheless.

My old Nerva type coin was a bronze As. It had nice green patina on it.

As to the sacrificial implements shown on the reverse of your denarius, I could have probably named off the simpulum, jug, and lituus, though "aspergillum" would've eluded me. But the real question is what these items were, and how specifically they were used? (OK, I can figure out "jug", but not the rest.) They sure made their way onto a lot of coins.

Love the portrait on that, very nice.

As for the Priestly implements, not sure exactly how they were used either. Im sure it could be written in a old issue of the Celtor or something.

I was going to comment on his profile as well. You'd think that someone would be happy to become Emporer, although, with that time period, maybe not.

Nerva came to power after Domitian was assassinated. That had to be on his mind some. I don't think I'd have wanted the job. You got to be the most powerful person in the known world, but you also became the number one target.

I guess some things never change, huh.
