I predicted it would go for over $1k here
I just hope bidders realize that the seller does have the option to end the auction if they are satisified with the amount and the top bidder would then be obligated to pay for it. That's why at this point I am staying away from it.

  • OK, This may qualify as a bubble in 2 oz Engelhard Bars. This may bring all E 2 ozers out of their hideaways.

I was thinking Zeitverschwendung actuallyimage But I'm not an old pour guy because I'm kicking myself a little after having access to the series when they were a little more common place and buying the newer stuff..image

Hopefully other 2 oz Engelhards will appear from some cache. However, I don't expect many will appear. IMO 2 oz Engelhard poured bars are excessively rare - much rarer than 4 oz and 7 oz bars.

$1891 was the final bid and the reserve was still not hit. I was watching the last few minutes of the bidding. Interesting.

I hope they were not watching this auction in China. We may soon all be able to purchase as many 2 oz Engelhards as we wish. image

that's just stupid...$850 oz? And the reserve wasn't met?
What is the seller referencing as a price guide for it to not sell is what I want to know.

Perhaps the price guide was established tonight.

Actually $950/oz. fat finger syndrome strikes again.

Perhaps the price guide was established tonight.
If that's the case, I guess I'm never going to own a 2 oz Engelhard...and the point you bring up about the Chinese watching that auction is actually a very good point.

  • OK........ With out naming names....... I, along with several others here, bid what

we all thought was STUPID money to get this. Most choked out at $1K ... but 3

of us, that I know of, topped that .... I REALLY wanted this bar..... but when it broke $1.5K .... image

The other thought I had was..... "WE" have been used.

Seller has a 2oz bar. A buyer wants it. They can not agree on a price, so....

they put it on the bay with a $10,000 reserve....... "WE" never had a chance...

but now they have a price.

Gotta say ...... I really do not understand the rarity based on the number on that bar.

Wish I knew what happened, or where, to the rest of them!!

So, the seller wasn't serious about actually selling the bar and just wanted to know what it would bring on eBay to establish the value of his bar?
