A couple of new German Medals

Won these in the recent WAG auction, the first one I just loved the reverse:
This one will actually be a Christmas present, one of my bothers in law has his PhD in Architecture, his thesis was on Medieval European Cathedral Acoustics. As you might guess he hasn't actually worked in the field much, since there are actually ZERO positions on the planet rquiring that education. But on the up side he has coauthored a couple of books and is currently working on another one.
The Cologne Cathedral is very interesting actually, the cathedral was started in 1248, but not finished until around 1880. In 1928, when this medal was issued they started the restoration.
