1937 Kelloggs Sport Stamps-New to forum

Hi all-
As a newbie to Collectors Universe and an amateur sports mem. collector, I could use some advice. A few years ago I acquired these stamps from my father. I can't seem to find any substantial information about these through Google searches and Ebay. Seems as though there are 24 set no. I am only missing set no. 1, 5 and 12. They all seem to be in near mint condition. So my questions are...Am I in the right forum? Should I have them graded? Should I buy the others to have a complete set? Should I sell them, keep them? How would I get the value? I apologize if I'm in the wrong area, but appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

Perfect place to be asking is right here
Here's some that are on ebay - Kelloggs Stamps
Love to see some scans of yours

Welcome!
That's a cool set! Do you want to complete the set? That's got to be a personal decision.
If not - consider selling them on ebay?
Kelloggs packaged a four-stamp panel of "Sports Stamps" in boxes of Pep cereal. I believe the backs have a person order an album and game boards - the stamps were designed to be played with. The set included BB, FB, tennis, golf, swimmers, boxers, aviators and race horses.
I have no idea of value since someone is gonna have to do a 'search' of past auctions.
IMO - the "book" (catalog) value of anything may be a ballpark idea of value - but how these things perform on ebay and other auctions is much more accurate.
Good luck with your set - if you have a scanner - would be nice for you to post what you have. Don't be a stranger!
<< <i>Thanks for the info guys. All are scanned in, but the files are too big to attach...uuuggg. Working on another way to display. I've seen the ones on ebay, but they are buy it now's. Overpriced? Maybe I guess. @mlbfan2-I don't think your link is the set as I have some stamps that "link" doesn't have. I've considered selling on ebay too, just don't know if I sell as a set. >>
Hi Matt
If ya email them to me - I'll fix them and post'em for ya. (mesablanca1110@yahoo.com)
Very nice!
A guy has #13 on a BIN for $250 - and it's not in anywhere near as good a shape as Matt's panels.
I would definitely consider having these panels graded - and if they come back Nrmt or better - give them to an auction house - whether sold separately or lot - I'm not really sure. I'm leaning towards separately.
<< <i>WOW...thanks Mike. So would it be recommended to send to PSA? I've heard it would cost a ton to have them authenticated and graded. Also don't want to put up on ebay without some type of reserve. What to do..what to do. >>
Consider what it will cost to do it with PSA and SGC - no membership required. No disrespect to PSA - but SGC - on an item like this would be a solid item also IMO. Plus they would look great in the SGC holder with the black background!
Good luck - IMO - take your time in considering what to do.
<< <i>Great forum guys and thanks for all the info. Maybe I'll start with grading the bigger names and see where it goes. I just noticed that some of the individual stamps appear on different panels. Like Tris Speaker on panel 20 & 23. >>
Correctamundo Matt.
6 of the stamps were double printed - so there's plenty of combos possible.
I think Johnny Revolta did some of his best work in Saturday Night Fever.

All though there is only 1 person in the registry and just on completion, this set would take the finest set available honors. If going the auction house route, touting something as the finest, might be to your advantage. SGC apparently has a registry, but it doesn't seem like much of one.
<< <i>Does anyone know what they would charge to grade or what auction houses are the best? >>
I would call PSA for input.
Once you have them graded - then I would look into where to have them sold - IMO.
Good luck!
Joe
I hope you enjoy it here.
PM sent regarding one of the panels.

I appreciate the interest in the panels/stamps, but I think I will have them graded first then not quite sure from there.
