A few card pickups and a wiffle ball

Hi everyone

I haven't posted on anything in some time - this is not informative - just some stuff I picked up.

First - an upgrade to my 63F BB set - I really didn't want the 9 but it was the first one in some time that was really centered.

63F Bill Monbouquette (edit: dot is in the scanner NOT the card)

and a couple of 52Ts - I've been collecting them for years - I've patiently waited for centered copies - which - like the 63F set - is a major chore!

(scratch is in the scanner)

And - I like the Rose Wiffle Ball - the pic on it is reminiscent of the 63T bobbing head Rose RC. The wiffle ball was invented by David Mullany in 1953.

And last - being the King of Krap - I added to my whiskey decanter collection - this one is #23:

Thanx for viewing!

Did you have to drink the whiskey out of it first Mike? image

Very nicely centered cards indeed!!! Those PSA 7's look really great. Congrats!!! image

BTW, you can throw a great knuckleball with that wiffleball.

    Thanx Doug.

Hiya Mike - thanx - being from NYC - you can appreciate that I played with the wiffle ball but was much more partial to the 'pink' colored Spalding rubber ball for stickball and stoopball - to name a few.

Hello Mike, yes I played some stickball in my time too, but we used a tennis ball instead.

Mike, great centering on those cards.

With regard to stickball and stoopball, did you also pronounce the Spalding ball spaldeen? Also, the "true" spaldeen was the pink one that was like a thin rubber, not the pink one that was like a squishy foam.

Of course it was a thin rubber SPALDEEN! Hit it just the right way and off you were back to the store to buy a new one because it split in half!

    Hi Bryon

87% - I've been working on it since 2004 - after about 2 yrs, my eye will - now - only stop if I see a well centered card. One can easily complete this set in a year 60/40.
