Wear and tear due to shipping

This might sound crazy, but does the excessive movement from shipping a graded card multiple times cause any wear to the card (however slight). Some cards "float" a little more than others so I was thinking it might be possible to ship a card so many times that the handling itself could ding a corner or cause edge wear enough to lower it a grade. Any chance of this happening or am I just paranoid?

I think the corners are safe, but not sure that the edges could get a slight ding?? I heard years ago that someone stuck a graded card in paint can shaker machine and it did not do anything.
