1995 reprint of the classic "Roman Republican Coinage" by Crawford

I posted this on the "World and Ancient Coins" forum, but it's rather quiet across the hall (get it? Hall, as in David Hall ... dang, I'm clever!) I thought I would post it here (and connect it to US coins) since this forum is rarely without an opinion! image

As some of you know, I like Roman Republican coins as a nice diversion from a steady diet of CBHs and double dimes. I was wondering if any of you have seen the 1995 reprint of Crawford's "Roman Republican Coinage" and can compare it to the 1975 original with respect to plated coins and the text. Do the corrections in the 1995 reprint add value to the text?

Thanks, everyone.

Speaking of the Roman Republic, I just let this one tag along on my last NGC submission. I collect Roman Imperials (the Twelve Caesars) and not Republicans, but I had this piece around and thought, oh, why not. Purists in the traditional ancient coin collector vein will scoff at me for wrapping a rather well-worn $50-ish coin in $35-ish worth of plastic, but I find the plastic does add a little... something.

Hey, PCGS- if y'all ever decide to grade ancients, I'll move back across to this side of the street. image
