Intercept Shield Boxes

Why are intercept shield storage boxes almost impossible to find? I have been using the combination PCGS and NGC storage boxes but cannot find them. Is it worth the extra money for these type of boxes? If not what would you recommend?

Don't know but just threw a bunch of the little boxes away. Was wondering if there was any market for them.

If they were guarenteed for ten years how were they tracked I just looked at one and there is no date stamp on it?

I use the track boxes, and they work very well for all slabs except for the NGC fatties, which fit too tight, and the PCGS Rattlers that shift a little, but not too bad. Overall, they are the best way I found to store slabs.

The 10 years I recall might not be the life of the product. Here are 2 paragraphs from the web site. I depends on the environment - once it turns "jet black", time to buy more. image

In comparison tests with other methods of corrosion protection, Intercept Shield ™ is clearly the most effective of all those available today. Lucent Technologies tested three different coin albums the results of which, are shown below. This remarkable technology provides 10 years of corrosion protection for each thousandth of an inch thickness, under normally encountered corrosive conditions. To get Intercept Shield ™ products, go to your local coin dealer.

As the solid state materials in the Intercept plastic react with and permanently neutralize the corrosive gases the color of the material changes. So the color change from dark brown to jet black tells us that the material is working, and once a jet black color is reached, it also tells us that we need to purchase new Intercept products.

There is definately a problem with getting new Intercept Shield product from China. This situation has been going on for a number of YEARS now. I think it would be nice if Wayne and Wizzard Coin Supply would explain exactly what the problem is and if and when the product will be available again. I, personally have been waiting to buy the Lincoln cent album covering 2008-2016 for over three years. The item continues to show "coming soon" on the Wizzard web site. Steveimage
