Long-Term Effect on Coins Stored in Mint-Sealed Boxes

Has anyone ever noticed long-term negative effects on coins stored for several years or more in mint-sealed boxes? Just asking because so many folks, myself included, keep mint purchases sealed and stored in a closet, safe, etc. and was wondering if you've ever encountered an unpleasant surprize when you finally did open the sealed box.

    Sure....a lot depends on environment.
I've noticed hazing on a lot of the late 60's and early 70's sets in their original mint packaging, but not sure where they were stored since I bought them 2nd/3rd hand.
The more recent sets (proof/mint) seem to get a more golden tone happening to many of them. I haven't noticed the same haze but I know I, and others, have seen some of the golden toning.

Overally, I keep many items in the OGP and I put them in the SDB...haven't noticed a real change in the ones I have bought from the mint myself and stored......

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
