Where do you think Prince Fielder will sign?

The rumors are strongest with the Cubs. I think he would be a great fit there and would have a huge following.
However I think that the Giants will sign him. The Giants are a contender and desperately need his bat.

Way to much weight...he'll break down in the next few fews. 3 year contract at the most. at least that's all I would offer....

There is some buzz around the Dodgers, but they need to sign Kemp and Kershaw first to long term deals.
Usually the Yanks or Red Sox would be the leaders, but they already have stud 1B.
From a collecting point of view, Chicago would be the best.

While Prince can tame the right field wall at AT&T Park, I doubt they'll sign him. He'll want a huge contract with lots of years, and with the major power-shift in the front office, I don't see them handing out a massive long term contract to ANYONE.
Plus, I don't think the organization wants to give up on Brandon Belt. Signing Fielder to a 5+ year deal would pretty much force them to play Belt out-of-position in the outfield.
The biggest names I expect to see the Giants pursue during this off-season are Beltran and Cuddyer.

<< <i>I haven't given this much thought, but when I read the title of the thread the first thing that came to mind is the Cubs. Wish my Rays could afford him, he would fit snugly in the 4 hole. >>

hopefully, he can locate it amongst all the round numbers and the several crooked numbers.

Arte isn't cheap, he just won't give out long contracts anymore. 3-5 years max is his range and so far he's right on the mark. Figgins, lackey, Crawford are all busts and Texiera is slipping yearly. if Tex didn't have that little league right field at Yankee stadium, his HR numbers would he dropping like his average and other stats.
Yes, we do have Vernon wells, but one reason he did the deal is he's only locked for 3 years with the bum.
I don't think the Dodgers even have a 50/50 chance on signing Kemp or Kershaw to long term deals...especially Kemp...Kemp wants the $$$ a team like the Yankees will toss at him

You guys can't figure out how to get Trout enough playing time in OF. Maybe we can help you out again with another guy who can't crack Sosh's lineup.

Trout should probably have another half year to a year in the minors. He does look like the real deal. Fastest home to first you'll ever see and definitely has power. has a great eye at the plate and plays the outfield well. if he has any weakness, it probably is throwing. Just an average arm.
I hate to do comparisons, but Trout is going to be the next Mantle if there ever was one.

1) Chicago Cubs (Theo absolutely needs to sign a huge free agent and it hurts a division rival - he knows divisional rivalries well)
2) Milwaukee (would need to structure a crazy offer with all sorts of future ownership clauses etc)
3) San Francisco (need to make a hitting splash - depends if they think Brandon Belt is really the guy)

I've been saying that he looks like a young Mantle at every game I went too. I hope that he can play half as good as he did....without all the baggage.
