...................... persons and events other than him.

ROFL

It appears he has given an interview to a sports reporter and in same he explains why things were not his fault.

Bay Area sports talk radio has been talking about his interview. One host basically said that the things he talked about could have had some effect upon his performance ...................... IF.......................... Russell had bothered to show up to training camp in great physical shape ready to play instead of showing up fat and out of shape.

A caller to the radio show stated that he was aware that when Russell arrived in Oakland he bought himself a new luxury car [a Bentley?] that was white. Someone told Russell that since he is playing for the Raiders his car should be black. In response to this suggestion Russell to his new luxury car to "Miracle Auto Paint" and had it repainted blackimage

If this is a true story, that is fricking amazing, sad and funny all at the same time.

you can have a silver exterior and black interior, no problem, either. ask Tom Flores.

be careful what you hear on the "50,000 watt flamethrower" (my assumtion that's the station)image

yet Miracle Auto Paint if true is image material!

<< <i>to me, he will always be ... jamarcus russell, mba image

i mean, he had the best business plan ever to get rich.

    1. have a good collegiate qb career at a sec school

    2. get drafted #1

    3. hold out in order to get paid

    4. get paid

    5. flame out

    6. sit at home counting your guaranteed $31.5 million dollars >>

I would bet that he has probably spent every penny of it too.

Not all of his failure was his own fault, sure holding out of camp because of greed certainly got the ball rolling but the team he was asked to lead was horrendous, and shame on the Raiders for throwing him right into the fire and not handing him a clipboard for a bit.

He will be broke and look back and regret the chances he had.

I read that SI story this afternoon and no big unknown revelations turned up. Except for his charitable side the Bay Area sentiment towards JaMarcus will remain the same: he probably wont want to set foot in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties again anytime soon.

Here's the wrap-up, the theme: too much money + bad work ethic + laziness + lack of motivation + immaturity + culture shock = one ginormous draft bust.

Maybe he'll go the Ryan Leaf route and write a couple books detailing his experiences.
