Both of these are PCGS graded MS64. One with a bean and one without. Post which one you like and why. Thanks.

I prefer the first one. I would give it a Plus, a sticker, and a Sniff. image

I like the 2nd - the toning seems more pleasing the the reverse appears more strongly struck.

Well, I will give my opinion, though it probably does not matter. I, too, prefer the coin in the top image. I agree that the second coin looks a bit better struck, but that could be an artificat of the toning and the lighting.

I like the first one. The second one looks "muddy", not the kind of color I enjoy.

    # 2. Reverse is a lot stronger. Sharper mint mark S.

Toned example #2. Cleaner cheek, eyebrow, clear mintmark, toning not stellar but not ugly IMHO.

...i like the one with the bean. it appeals to me more than the first, i like the toning. image

  • I like the first one better than the second because of the tone. If you are putting one in a set which
ever one that would fit in with the others is the one to use.

I would like to see the secong in hand before passing judgment- I think it is the better of the two

  • I like the 2nd one better due to what looks to be less overall marks on the coin and a stronger strike. It looks like a twin to the washington quarter i have in my type set which is just a common date ms66 but has the same toning and strike but can still see the luster when you have the coin in hand.

i like the 2nd one here better.
  • I looked again. I like the first. I love the second. I was so tired when I looked I was thinking slowly, and allowed other things to govern my decision. That's unusual. image

Dip the first one to remove the ugly toning on the obv and I would like it better.
    Otherwise, neither one floats me.

First one looks to have better flash and luster from the lighting.

Number 2, though I would want to see what those two small spots were above "In" in "In God We Trust." I think I might continue to look. They are pricey but not rare.

I like the second coin the best, as its toning allows the minute features to show up better(even though they may be there in both coins), such as the eagle's breast feathers and Washington's hair curls. This makes it more enjoyable to look at(if anything makes a Washington enjoyable to look at).

If the luster is full on the second one that would be my choice. If not then the first.
