Mention of 25th Anniversary ASE Set in Coin World

FURTHER DETAILS POSTED BELOW FROM CW:

Unless I missed it, there was no price update or reminder in today's Coin World re this week's ASE sale date.

I was surprised by this, as many other collectors (except crazy people like us around here, of course) may not even be aware of Thursday's start date.

IMHO this may prolong a sell out.

It was in the printed version of the CW I received today.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Was it buried inside? I must have missed it then.

Thank the Mint for keeping the price a secret until after the trade papers have already gone to press with the editions that will be on the news stands before the release.

Coin World posted its news coverage about the price for the set at our website at 4:50 p.m. Oct. 20, about a half hour after the Mint released the information to us. The Nov. 7 issue (the November Special Edition) was essentially complete at that time, but I was able to update my feature article about the rarest American Eagle silver coins to include the price and we included a mention of the set's pricing in the From the Editor column on page 3. Our news hole for the issue was filled and in any case, the printed issue (mailed Oct. 24) will not reach most of our subscribers until after the coin goes on sale (and probably sells out). The availability of the set was reported at the top of page 1 of the Oct. 31 issue, though at that time the Mint had not released pricing details.
