I'm investigating an unusual feature on a common date in the series. Can anyone here take a shot at helping? TIA.

Post a good picture. Many of us will be happy to give you good information, even if we are not considering ourselves experts.

I don't have possession of the coin, so I can't offer images. It isn't a major issue, just trying to properly attribute. It is an 1835, with a significant die break on reverse. Haven't been able to match it up to any of the JR varieties listed in Russ Logan's former set.
