I look at it this way.....we could have come into this game 6-0.

The thing I looked for from the Lions at the beginning of the season was improvement. Not necessarily W/L, but just being able to see this team learn how to win games. To this point, they've done that. They came back from large halftime deficits twice to win games on the road. They have won games that the usually gave up on in the 4th in previous years. Stafford is making better decisions than in his previous limited starts. The defense is creating turnovers. Again, I'm not expecting a huge playoff run this year. Experience in the playoffs would be great, but the season is far from that yet. I'm simply happy to see growth, something that was always lacking from the Millen Era.

I'm with you. Lay the foundation for a solid future, get the record to decent (8-8 would be just fine) and show some progress. They've certainly done all of that and they've got a foundation where all of their top players are very young. They add some help pieces and they've got a chance to be good for several years in a row.
<< <i>They won't even make the playoffs. They certainly won't win their division.....that belongs to the Packers. And I can't see them being a wild card at 8 and 8, which is the best they can probably do.
Lions fans can come down to earth and reality anytime now. >>
Congratulations to the 10-5 Lions on clinching a playoff spot!
Like I have been saying all year.....The Lions are a GOOD Football team!
They'd actually be even that much better with Best in there at RB..

<< <i>I would not want to face the Lions in a playoff game this year.
If they are on their game, they can play with and beat anybody. >>
Especially if they can stay out of the penalty box.

I stand by what I wrote about the Lions in another thread but if they end up playing the Cowboys in the playoffs I'm on the Lions side all the way. I'd even cheer for Tim Tebow over the Cowboys.
The Cowboys are in fact the most overrated team in the NFL this year and considering which other teams are in that same overrated division that's saying a lot.

<< <i>If you give the Lions 21 points they have a 50/50 chance of winning . Really! Soooooooooooooooooooooo over rated. >>
Hah! Obviously, you're in O.J. land.
Sir, I appreciate your enthusiasm for your favorite team, but to recap, you completely reversed the reality that it was the Lions who spotted the Cowboys three scores when it was actually 20-3 Dallas at half time; you predicted that Detroit wouldn't finish better than 8-8, and you predicted that Detroit wouldn't make the playoffs. And yet despite the facts that Detroit came back from that deficit to beat Dallas, are 10-5, and have clinched a playoff spot, somehow, you declare yourself proven correct. Wow. God bless ya, but I doubt your capable of discussing anything that may remotely involve the Dallas Cowboys in a rational way or with any footing in reality.
Edited to add: I imagine the irony is lost on you that it's the Cowboys who are now hoping to make the playoffs at 8-8... at best.

Keep chewin' on those sour grapes, Dimeman!! Better yet, save them make wine cause you'll need a drink after your Cowboys are eliminated..... Lions fans will be happy with one playoff win; that will be a tremendous season for us. You guys cry when you don't make it to the SB......

Not-that good Lions win by 35. Clearly-superior-no-matter-what-the-scoreboard-or-standings-may-indicate-Cowboys lose by 27. Awesome day.

The Cowboys must have really put it to your team over the years.

Or, as was the case versus the Cowboys, they could spot another team 21 and have a 50/50 chance of winning.
