Thoughts on this Ted Williams Signed Bowman

Hoping to get some thoughts on this Ted Williams signed 1950 Bowman. Apologies for the poor scans but for some reason, I can't seem to get a good scan of the card. The actual card is NOT this washed out (it is an authentic 1950 Bowman card).

The first scan is representative of the signature. In the second scan, I tried to adjust the settings so the autograph shows better against the darker parts of the card, hence the washed out look to the scan.

Any thoughts?

"Ted" looks a little more crammed than usual, but I am not an expert.

doesnt look good to me; i dont like the "Ted" or the "W" (although it could be a vintage sig that he signed in the 50's; i'm not sure though).

My initial gut says it's a clubhouse sig from the '50s (not a malicious forgery, but not signed by Ted).

Actually to add a little more background to the signature, it was part of a collection compiled by a kid in beginning in 1950 and continuing until 1954. Not sure when the Ted would have been signed but in that time frame. The kid who collected the cards had a medical condition and ended up passing away very young in the 1950s. His brother saved the cards and began selling them about 8-10 years ago and I bought the Ted.

That all being said, I know the Ted is not a "forgery" in today's sense of the word. I'm more concerned that it could be a clubhouse... I'm not exactly sure how the cards were collected (whether signed in person or through the mail). I do know a few others from the collection have been slabbed over time, although I don't track them often.

Interesting - we were posting at the same time. That was one of the questions I had. It does match some exemplars I have, but I'm also unsure what to look for in a Williams clubhouse.

I don't like that one at all. I'm fairly confident that it's a clubhouse signature. The T is wrong, and I also don't like the separation between the e and the d.

I have about 30 signed Williams pieces...mostly pics...and IMO it is not legit. Clubhouse sig is a good guess
