Is this ingot from Carson City?

I picked this awesome 5oz bar up today at the PNNA show here in Portland.
I don't recognize the little diamond stamp on the reverse.
Anybody have any specifics on where or when this bar was produced?

I have a similar 1oz ingot that is clearly labeled Comstock Mines from Carson City and while at the show I thought
the eagle might be the same but upon closer inspection the obverse design is not quite identical.

  • That was produced by the Foster Company probably in the late 60s (likely 1969) or early 70s. It was made by the same company that made the Comstock Mines bar. Nice score!!!!

Hmmm. I wouldn't have guessed Foster mint. I thought they were mostly early art bars and cast pieces.
I haven't seen or heard of anything poured like this one.

I haven't been able to find one on ebay...
Yesterday I wrote to an ebay member "midpacificgoldnsilver" who has a ton of rare silver listed.
He just wrote me back this morning...
