I dont want to remove the coin from the 2X2 but want to get its weight. Can anyone give me an exact weight (grains preferred) of an old style 2X2 holder, with a 1 1/4 inch opening and cello window?

thanks

Indeed. I've run into this issue before too. To complicate things further, not all types of staples are the same weight either...

I believe the OP referred to the 'self stick' 2x2s, without staples. If Al21 has not completely answered the OP's question, I would be happy to weigh one myself and give you the results.

It's probably on approval and not returnable if removed from the original holder.

I would guess different manufacturers and even different product runs by the same manufacturer would all be a little different.
