Thanks to ModCrewman for selling me a beginners copy stand at a savings I am playing around with it now.
I think I need to adjust the lighting and a few other things and I will be on my way
So that's what it looks like when I don't hold the camera in my hands
Now....to try some copper!
This one is giving me trouble trying to pick up the toning, but I'm working on it
But it does show the nice toning this error State Quarter is taking on
A few toned Proofs

Tips #1 - don't photo the coin in the center of your view finder, photo it towards the edge, Goodman's book recommends using the "Short edge" of the camera to shoot the coins.
Tip #2 - Use the timer, so the camera isn't moving from the button push.
I had a goose neck attachment that I took off
just the swivilt and tilt section and it screws right on to the
existing bracket. Also I do have it on a 2 second timer. I learned that
when holding it by hand
I think a few more adjustments and will post more
as I get familiar with it.
I also may outgrow this stand very quickly
Thanks for the tips and keep them coming

Edit: ... and pull the shades in the room, as you have multiple light colors in some of the pictures.

<< <i>Set the ISO for 80 and don't be afraid of backing away from the coin so that it occupies a small part of the screen if that is what is necessary to get it evenly lit. You're still going to have to shrink it for the web, anyway. A web-friendly 800x800 pixels is 0.64 MP, and you're starting with 10 MP.

I have the shades closed. I have backed away as much as it allows which is 6", maybe I will extend the medal bracket(build a new one, taller?)
Also, I tried setting the ISO and the lowest is 160
Later tonight I'm going to pick up a small light to balance and match what I have on the right side.

Looking at your manual (p. 80), it looks like the lowest ISO setting is 80. Not sure why you can't go below 160. I didn't see anything that would restrict you from a lower setting.

<< <i>Sounds like you need to extend the copy stand. 6" is pretty close. Your camera can focus at 12" set to max telephoto, so you want to be at least this far away. You'll notice a huge improvement by doing this instead of being close with the lens at maximum wide angle.

I can't take a picture of the set up as I only have one camera.
And a light above and each side
