Strange ebay message when bidding on multiple items

Last night, I bid and won an item from a seller, and earlier today I see another item from the same seller that I want to bid on. I tried to place a bid, and I come across this message:

Sorry, you are not allowed to purchase this item
• This item is only available to buyers who have not purchased 1 or more items from this seller in the past 10 days.
• You can contact the seller for more information, or find similar items offered by other sellers.

I don't think that I'm on this seller's BBL and I've never done business with the seller before. I probably should have emailed the seller explaining that I wanted to bid on multiple items and was going to pay tonight after I received the invoice. Any thoughts?

There is a setting in "buyer requirements" that allows a seller to restrict the # of
items won by a buyer. This seller must have set this to 1.

let him know and I am sure he will correct the problem.

  • Might be the sellers way of not having to combine shipping.

Or the sellers way of avoiding ebay's fees. Sell one card to a buyer, get the buyer to pay, and now you both have each other's email addresses. Tell him what you want, he ends them and sells them off of ebay.

But beware, if this is the case you may lose buyer protection from Paypal. If the seller is solid, give it a try. He'll save about 10% selling off of ebay, offer to split the difference and give you a 5% discount on your purchases.
