Is this a legit error? Struck on damaged planchet or PMD?

I purchased this at the local coin show here in ohio. Looks legit to me. Need some expert advice.

  • It's a large lamination that has peeled off the coin. It is a legitimate error but these aren't particularly rare and carry only a modest premium.

I agree. Probably worth a small premium over melt. It's not something that would be worth having graded.

I dont claim to be an error expert, but separated lamination was my thought as well. Too bad it is not a D mintmark, you could use it to fill a 16-D hole!

Would it have more value if the date were visible?
