Are we sure Al Davis isn't still alive?

A 1st-round pick for Carson Palmer? You've got to be kidding me. That guy hasn't been relevant in 5 years. Mike Brown basically had zero leverage and somehow walked away with 2 picks....only the Raiders would do something like this.

Not just 1 first round pick, TWO first round picks.

Of course, this causes a lot of problems for the Bengals. Now, Mike Brown will have to pay two more first round picks.

It's going to go like this:

The Raiduhs will win a playoff game this year (and by making the post season, they keep the Bungles out), so the Bungles get the second first round pick as mentioned in the trade. The silver & black lose out on a franchise changing player in the 2013 draft, but Cincy drafts someone else who they believe to be the second coming of Icky Woods. We all laugh and snicker...

    the end

Don't laugh at the Raiders. Next year they need a qualified back up for Terelle Pryor. Palmer will fit in that spot nicely.

I'm an OSU fan but pleeeezzzzzeeeee, Pryor is not going to be any good....the Raiders would be better off waiting for Brandon Miller....

Carson Palmer was the best solution possible although one or possibly two first round picks was a very steep price to pay for a likely one season rental. It was also reported today that Kyle Orton was the Plan B but the Raiders wouldn't give up anything better than a 4th round pick for him.

Agree the Raiders way overpaid for Palmer. I knew back in early summer that Carson was moving out of the area because of him calling in to shutoff his services and giving a Cali forwarding addy. Kind of ironic that my buddy who took care of him over the phone is a diehard Raiders fan and told Carson to strongly consider trying to play for the Raiders. Blew our minds at work today that this happen.

Looks like Jason Campbell will be available to someone next season. They pretty much just told him not to let the door hit him on the butt on the way out.

they did what they felt had to be done to salvage the season, and of course there are always other motivations in the Raiders organization than "Ju$t win Baby!"

i read that Hue Jackson had some pull in getting this done, but i'm sure the green light came from above Hue.

Looking at the other side a bit, they basically got him for a 1st and a 2dn. That 2nd will NEVER escalate to a 1st, as they aren't going to make it to the title game in the next two years. Palmer is probably a top 20 QB if he can revert to his form from 2 years ago. Getting a top 20 QB these days on the open market is impossible.

Palmer is a joke. It's probably a toss up on who's the most over-rated...him or Romo...
