Who's eligible?
On October 18, sellers who list in the Auction-style format will pay no insertion fee per item listed ("Promotion"). Only sellers whose accounts meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards are eligible. Please refer to the “What’s Excluded?” section for more details. There is a limit of 250 listings that are eligible for this offer. This promotion applies to both eBay Stores subscribers and sellers who do not have an eBay Store subscription. Sellers who do not have an eBay Store subscription are still eligible to list Auction-style listings for free--up to 50 listings per month. Once the 50 free Auction-style insertion fees have been used, this Promotion offer will apply.When is it?This promotion starts on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second), and will end that same day, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds), for listings on www.ebay.com. What are the fees?
During the Promotion Period, insertion fees for listings in the Auction-style format will be FREE on the U.S. site, www.ebay.com, eBay Motors at www.eBayMotors.com (Parts & Accessories only), and eBay Canada at www.ebay.ca, as reflected in the fee table below. There is a limit of 250 listings that are eligible for this offer. Listings created prior to October 18, 2011, which are scheduled to start during the Promotion Period, will be eligible to receive the Promotional Rate. Additional optional feature fees apply. Final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale including the cost of the item, shipping, and any other fees a seller may charge-excluding any sales tax.
Please note: For sellers listing with any tool other than the latest version of the Sell Your Item form (SYI 3.0), the Promotional Rate will not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "View Account Status" section in My eBay, as well as in your next invoice.

Sounds like you are avoiding taxes ....... are you in the 1 %
I could save $25. and if we got enough people to list this way, we could "OCCUPY EBAY"
I use to keep anywhere from 100 too 200 in my not sold auction and when these days came up
I would list them for free. Then a few weeks ago I noticed that most of those old auctions
that where qued up in there just vanished. I guess eBay firgued out what i was doing by
saving them and not deleting the not sold auctions. The rascals.

There's already enough of those anyway!
But others like myself, are able to list fairly priced items for free that may cost up to 2 bucks before, I have sold many items this way.
I did occupy ebay with a bunch of really cute Baby Harbor Seal Photos that I would not pay to list on ebay as it is not a good way to sell art.
