This is very upsetting to me. I'm a huge racing fan, tough day! RIP Dan image

I was watching it as it happened. I told my wife that it didn't look hopeful about 10 minutes after the crash...they had already tarped his car and it was still on the track. Usually means "do not touch" and it's never a good sign at any kind of auto race.

Sad day indeed. Dan Weldon was a superstar in Indy Car Racing.

God Bless to his family and friends.

Spectacular crash. Three Indy cars flying in separate incidents. Very sad day in open wheel.

    RIP

“It was like a movie scene, which they try to make as gnarly as possible,” said Danica Patrick

Maybe she was quote before his death was announced (which was 2 hours after the crash even though they taped off his car pretty quickly) but what a stupid comment.

Yes, it was a quote soon after the accident, much like Brisoe comparing the scene to a Terminator movie.

Wow, sad to hear. My son and I met him on June 3, 2010 in Texas. RIP Dan.

I don't see why you think those quotes are stupid... after watching the crash... I had similar feelings. It looked almost too crazy to be real, unfortunately it was. I'm sure in person at eye level it was even more surreal

  • How terribly sad this is! I just did a little looking around the web, his youngest son is only 7 months old.

What a shame, absolutely terrible tragedy.
