1941 Play Tall Ted Williams <help!>

when I was collecting the 1941 play ball set, I decided to go ahead and buy the Ted Williams card. Now that I am selling off from my set (I never could afford the DiMaggio), I am debating on getting my Williams graded. I am merely here for your opinions. I am not a member of PSA, and I am thinking about maybe going towards SGC-- but I don't know... Any comments at all as to your idea of what it would achieve in either SGC or PSA or what you think it might be worth would be greatly appreciated. The reason that the card looks so white is because it is inside of a weathered penny sleeve and inside a harder one. If requested, I can have somebody take it completely out (my paralysis is to the point to where my hands cannot function very well). Anyhow, any help or comments are greatly appreciated. The only problems that I can see on the card are a slight crease at the bottom and a little bit of rounding of the corners. Thanks again!

  • With the crease, you will definitely receive a PSA 3. As far as grading it, the only reason to do so is if you are going to sell it or if you like the look. As far as which company, once again, if you are going to sell it, PSA is probably better. If you are keeping it, a lot of people like the SGC holder. Personally, I still like PSA.

    Good luck,

Appears to be a PSA 3/SGC 40. Given recent sales trends, the values are virtually identical in either a PSA or SGC holder at that grade point.
  • Nice card and well worth grading, I would just send it to sgc by yourself or piggy back on a board members PSA sub. There are fakes of this card out there so selling it raw you will get less as many buyers will pass.
