i actually got a few of these from some cards i bought on ebay, the ones i got the right corner has a triangle cut out of it and the front of the sleeve is a little lower than the back. the top of the card is not fully protected by the sleeve. prob an 1/8 inch exsposed.
good to know, you would think they would just make the sleeves taller then. the offset back and clipped corner makes sense but not having the card fully secured inside the sleeve is dumb.

I appreciate it but your description was clear, if 1/8th of the top of the card is exposed that's a prime spot for a finger print when handling modern cards.

That's the reason I never liked them as well.
For years I have always just inserted a pen into the penny sleeve and stretched one side. It makes the penny sleeve really open up. I can easily insert the card with no damage.

thanks

+1. I guess I'll keep cutting corners off.
