Crazy Turnaround Times

Well ... of the two submissions I sent in a couple of months ago ... one received 8/4 and the other received 8/16 which should be graded first but the one received 8/16. Both were sent in World Economy, so no real guesstimate as to why one before the other than perhaps PCGS thinks UK coins are easier to grade than German Empire ... anyway ... the grades are as follows:

1924 1/4D Gr.Britain MS63RB
1925 1/4D Gr.Britain AU58BN
1943 1/4D Gr.Britain MS63RD

1914 6D Gr.Britain Genuine (92 - Cleaned)
1935 Crown Incused edge Gr.Britain MS64

Anyway, I would hate to think how long the next submission will take considering the horrible time frame listed for World Economy.

ngc is no better these days.

PCGS revised its turnaround times for Economy world coins submissions to 48 working days. Perhaps it has to do with the graders' monthly trips to Paris.


Other than that, nice submission. The 1925 looks like a near miss, the 1951 got the same grade like one I have, and I wonder if the 1914 6d was truly cleaned, or if it was the essential Genuine that has to accompany each and every submission....

The crown also sounds promising.

All things considered, the grades were about as expected, tho' I must admit that I was hesitant about sending in the 6d as I wasn't really sure how PCGS would handle it. The crown was purchased on a whim because it is the only year for George V that has the St George & Dragon reverse.

Once I get the farthings back I will merge them in with my present collection and see where I stand on the holes that I want to fill ... ahhh ... for the thrill of the hunt ...

That's why I am just sitting on a big batch of World stuff to submit. Whoever gets working times back to a normal 10-15 working days will get the whole group.
