He really has some nice pieces. I have seen this site before, and it is a great reference for quality type coins and colonial history.

This collection has since been dispersed, but it sure was cool, and the presentation of it was spectacular.

Agree on the presentation and selection of representative Colonial pieces. The Higley stands out as a particularly nice example of a relatively rare colonial.

Just for clarification purposes, the Higley in that collection is actually a John Bolen silver reproduction made in 1864-65. It is not an authentic Higley copper from 1737-39.

Interestingly enough, the Bolen silver Higley's are much rarer (as a type) than authentic Higley coppers. I would guess there are only 8-12 known of the Bolen silver reproductions and somewhere around 70-80 authentic Higley coppers known. (spread out over multiple die varieties).
