Glendale card show Oct 28-30

Hi all, the Glendale, CA card show is fri Oct 28th- sun Oct 30th. I am not sure what days I am going yet, but I know Jimrad and jeff8877 and I will meet there and then go to a great bbq place for lunch.

Please let me know who can make it. My treat for the BBQ lunch. Would really like to meet some of you guys.

I'll probably be going one of the days. Not sure when yet. Hope to see some of you guys there. The autograph lineup is pretty weak so I guess I'll just be searching for raw 70's basketball and maybe some 58/59 FB. Had a good time last time.

It is a fun little show. I met JP from Memory Lane. He was a nice guy, and he gave me a deal on a 1951 Bowman Mantle. Let me know what day works for you. Once I figure out which day I am going I will try to set up the meet and lunch.

Speaking of, how does PSA like to accept cards at shows? Do you give them your submission form and cards wrapped in some hard carboard? Or do they want it the same as you would mail it, but you dont have to pay for delivery?

The 2011 Los Angeles Sports Card & Memorabilia Show 2 is scheduled for October 28 - 30 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium.

I bet! The guy that you bought the Montana Pack from wound up giving me a ton of good contacts to help with my signed basketball sets. I had a great time at the show. Wish they did it 4 X year. Will be sure to plan ahead to have lunch with board members next time.

Hi Guys,

It was nice meeting up with everyone today. I agree Mike, it would be nice to have a local show every few months. I guess we will have to move to the east coast in the future.

It was really nice meeting VitoCo1972 and relaxed. Always good to see jimrad and jeff8877. I must say JP from Memory Lane always brings some nice cards to drool over. The 1952 Topps Mantle PSA 8 is awesome to see in person.

I agree with Mike it was nice meeting board members today. After they cancelled Hollywood Park for card shows there wasn't anything locally so maybe if the economy improves maybe this will open up new shows.

I never went to a show at Hollywood Park so I can't tell you.
There was a nice assortment of baseball - seemed to me that prices were too high on stars and fairly cheap on commons.
Not much hockey as expected.....

Show is definitely smaller than Hollywood Park's used to be. Probably about 1/2 the size...mostly because there was only one person selling modern boxes of cards at the whole show. As a whole, there was very little clutter that I didn't care about. Tons of vintage, tons of commons boxes. It was set builder heaven. I bought pretty much commons only (and a Dr. J rookie) all to send TTM or get signed. Had a ton of fun.

I agree with the others. My son picked up some newer auto cards, patch cards and a Babe Ruth bat card. I picked up quite a few raw common 1957's, 1968's, 1969's and 1972's for my raw sets. Lastly, I picked up a few average 1957 stars for my second set of 57's. Mantle, Koufax, Yankee Power Hitters.

All in all, nice to just have a little show on the west coast.
