Attention Error Collectors: Definition Please

I think I need a definition of "Off Center/Broadstruck".

I was just perusing the Monday night Teletrade auction
and saw this Indian Cent PCGS 5% Off Center listed.

Off Center Indian Cent

I thought I read a definition somewhere, that if there
is no missing design elements on a coin it is considered
a Broadstrike, where as, if some lettering is missing
it would be considered Off Center.

I know, in the grand scheme of things it probably
doesn't make any difference, but a clarification
would be welcome.

The denticles appear to run off the edge of the coin on both faces. It's hard to tell for sure because of interference from the gasket. Anyway, if my impression is correct, this would make it an off-center strike, since the denticles are part of the design. At least that's my take on it. -- Mike Diamond

Thanks Mike. I guess denticles would be considered
a design element, and that would make perfect sense.

Correct, the denticles are considered part of the design, hence the off centered terminology.
