Question about a '72 Ike I found a while back... Possible new die variety?

I pulled this out of a batch of Ikes I picked up at the bank probably at least 3-4 months ago... was looking for T2's and stumbled on this island-less coin.

Someone posted a pic of another island-less Ike on Cointalk, which jogged my memory about my own island-less Ike. I know this forum gets more traffic than over there, so I'm curious, what do you guys make of this?

Full obv. and rev. shots, yes the pics suck, I took 'em in a hurry.

It looks like it has the earth definition of a Type 1 with die filling where the islands should be.

Better photographs are a definite must.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
  • I'll try to get some better pics this evening and maybe stick it under a usb microscope.
