Can you show me a photo of the reverse. The light on the coin could be tricking me. Or just explain the reverse, is the reverse weak where the obverse error is?

<< <i>But why no blaksley effect?(sp). >>
Because it is a cud, not a clip. Clips will have the effect. Cuds show a weakness over the same area on the side opposite the cud. So, in this case, the weakness will be on the reverse.

It's not a CUD imo PMD
The area around AMER is weak because the opposing area on the obv die was gone/the CUD area.

Are your sure this is the reverse? There is no weakness opposite the cud (major die break) which is to be expected (since the metal filling the "cud" weakens the transfer of the design on the opposite side of the coin).

I see weakness on the AMER and the rim.

It should be a lot weaker
<< <i>It's absolutely a genuine cud error, and the photos are of both sides of the coin, just under different lighting/photo conditions. To me it is also a small MAD strike and also slightly out of collar.....don't spend it >>
Ya , sure could be, the lighting is weird. Most CUDs I have seen tho have much more pronounced weakness.

That's my thought as well.

Then again ... I can't think of what else it could be. It certainly isn't glue or solder, so I have no doubt it's genuine. I just expected more evidence of metal filling into the broken die.
