The lack of answers pretty much sums it up. I took my 7 y/o grandson today and he probably enjoyed it more than everyone else there, combined. VERY slow show, didn't count dealers but there couldn't have been more than 40. Boredom seemed rampant, slow sales. The dealers who brought lots of bargain bins were happy with it. Some dealers were blessed to have a few regular customers come in and buy. Let's just say the crowds weren't knocking us down and we didn't have to fight to see showcases.
On a positive note, Dylan got to grab a large handful of foreign coins from a treasure chest, and came out with quite a few tokens, as well. He was interested in those, and now we're going to be delving farther into "exonumia" at future shows. He bought 3 Canadian cents for his book, the elusive 1964 D Kennedy (we have LOTS of P's), a couple silver quarters and 2 wartime nickels he was missing from books, as well as many more only he would remember. Grandma is exhausted tonight, but what a great day with my little man!
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.
The show was EXTREMELY slow. Some dealers left already on Saturday. More on Sunday... and the show still goes on Monday. It wouldn't be shocking that the only dealers sticking around are the ones who will be attending the ANA. In our "section" that had 4 dealers, we are the only ones remaining
A couple points during the day, we wondered if any customers were still at the show... So a definite bust from the dealer aspect. But one collector who stopped at the table said he likes it like this, as its easier for them to see everything.
